Level 2: Intermediate Thai Massage

This certified 30-hour Thai massage course teaches you acupressure and stretches in the side-lying, prone and sitting positions.

Course Description

Prerequisite: Level 1: Thai Massage Foundations
Duration: 30 hours

CECs: NHPC 15 | CMMOTA 24 | MTAM 30
Included: Handbook, online access, T-shirt, certificate

The primary focus of this course will be to teach you Thai massage acupressure points and stretches in the side-lying, prone and sitting positions. I will teach you massage techniques that use your hands, knees, feet, and elbows and efficient transitions between each of these techniques.

My courses emphasize hands-on training and practical experience. In addition to working closely with other students and me, you'll have the chance to practice your new skills on Sirius Health client volunteers prior to taking your practical exam.

I begin each day of the course with Reusi Dat Ton and Qigong. I divide my course theory into four areas of study: Professional, Theoretical, Practical, and Ethical. I will explain the various pathways to becoming a Thai massage practitioner and then teach you the five layers of the body. Then I will show you how to create intake forms and SOAP notes and discuss the cultural appropriation concerns related to Thai massage.

By the end of the course, you will be able to perform a complete 120-minute Traditional Thai massage using all four positions.

Course Schedule

2-Weekend Option: Nov 22-23 & 29-30, 2025

4-Day Option: Nov 27-30, 2025

I offer students two options for each of my courses. If you live near Saskatoon, you can take the course over two consecutive weekends. This option allows you to keep working without taking time off.

If you live farther from Saskatoon, I’m happy to reteach the first two days of the course on Thursday and Friday before the final weekend. This way, you only need to travel to Saskatoon once for the course. Plus, it lets you finish the course alongside the students who chose the two-weekend option.

Grant Martens

I am the owner and founder of Sirius Health, and I have the privilege of being both a Registered Instructor and an Advanced Registered Thai Therapist with the Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI). I am also licensed as a Thai Massage Practitioner under the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC).

My introduction to Thai massage took place in 2016 during a visit to the Gellért Bath and Spa in Budapest, whilst travelling across Europe with my family. The experience left a profound impression, inspiring me to pursue formal training in Thailand. In 2018, I undertook my initial courses at the Thai Massage School of Thailand (TMC) in Chiang Mai. Furthermore, I sought private sessions with Mr Nat at the Suppatra Blind Massage clinic during this journey.

In 2021, I returned to Chiang Mai to earn my CAPT certification at the International Training Massage School (ITM), complementing my studies with various short programmes at Ong’s Thai Massage School.

In 2025, I devoted another two months to advancing my skills in Thailand. I trained in Thai Face Lifting and Abdominal Massage at Sirichan Thai Massage Learning Centre, Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai Nei Tsang at Loi Kroh Massage and Ong’s Thai Massage School, and completed courses in Prenatal/Postnatal and Pregnancy Massage at Ong’s.
