The Level 5: Thai Massage Practicum course takes place once a year; during the first two weeks of July.

Thai massage is a hands-on profession, and you need hands-on education. The primary focus of this course is to give you practical experience in various environments using the advanced techniques and specialized modalities you learned from the previous levels.

Our courses emphasize hands-on training and practical experience. In addition to working with the instructor and other students, you can practice your new skills on Sirius Health client volunteers on the fourth training day.

This course will begin daily with Thai Yoga (Reusi Dat Ton) or Qigong. You will then spend one day learning a specific application of Thai massage and the next day visiting locations including a senior's home, school, street market and professional sports club. You will also receive private hands-on tutoring from the instructor for more accurate movements and techniques.

Course content during the first week will include introducing Dynamic Thai techniques and learning about the causation and diagnosis of unbalanced elements. We will also examine how to create a meditation state and study the application of the four Brahmaviharas in Thai massage.

Course content during the second week will include an introduction to abdominal work and how to use Thai massage to work with unbalanced elements. And we will examine the art of sensing and intuition and study the relationship between the Noble Eightfold Path and Five Precepts and Thai massage ethics.

By the end of the course, you will have improved your therapeutic Thai massage skills, practiced client-practitioner relationships and developed essential business practices.

Schools typically teach Traditional Thai Massage as a system of sequences. We have developed a different and vastly improved approach. We teach you the entire system with its many sequences. But we also help you to go beyond those sequences and learn many specialized therapeutic applications.

We strongly focus on therapist-friendly ways of working to keep therapists healthy and inspired, and we focus on working with the energy components that make Thai Massage so effective.

Grant Martens

I am the owner and founder of Sirius Health, and I have the privilege of being both a Registered Instructor and an Advanced Registered Thai Therapist with the Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI). I am also licensed as a Thai Massage Practitioner under the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC).

My introduction to Thai massage took place in 2016 during a visit to the Gellért Bath and Spa in Budapest, whilst travelling across Europe with my family. The experience left a profound impression, inspiring me to pursue formal training in Thailand. In 2018, I undertook my initial courses at the Thai Massage School of Thailand (TMC) in Chiang Mai. Furthermore, I sought private sessions with Mr Nat at the Suppatra Blind Massage clinic during this journey.

In 2021, I returned to Chiang Mai to earn my CAPT certification at the International Training Massage School (ITM), complementing my studies with various short programmes at Ong’s Thai Massage School.

In 2025, I devoted another two months to advancing my skills in Thailand. I trained in Thai Face Lifting and Abdominal Massage at Sirichan Thai Massage Learning Centre, Chi Nei Tsang and Karsai Nei Tsang at Loi Kroh Massage and Ong’s Thai Massage School, and completed courses in Prenatal/Postnatal and Pregnancy Massage at Ong’s.
