Course Description
This online Thai Head Massage course offers you the tools to deliver a comprehensive upper-body session rooted in Traditional Thai Massage. You'll work on the head, face, neck, shoulders, and, often, the upper chest using techniques such as compression, acupressure, rhythmic movements, and gentle stretching. What sets Thai head massage apart from other styles is its dynamic approach that incorporates rotations, tapping, and kneading, and its traditional preference for working dry (without oils). This uniqueness makes it a clean, practical treatment that clients can enjoy anytime, without the need for extra preparation.
Beyond the hands-on techniques, the course provides a thorough dive into the theory behind the practice. You'll learn the cultural significance of Thai head, neck, and shoulder work, how it became a popular, focused session, and why it's effective from both traditional and modern perspectives. This theory touches on Thai Medicine principles, such as sen lines and the wind element (lom), as well as contemporary insights into tissue tension patterns, nervous system regulation, and the interplay between the neck and jaw. These concepts help you understand what you're feeling and approach each technique with intention.
The main portion of this course walks you through a complete 60-minute Thai head massage sequence that transitions through seated → side-lying → supine positions. It also covers practical setup tips and ways to support your client throughout the session. You'll gain access to video instruction, detailed text explanations for both technique and theory, and a downloadable digital workbook to guide your practice. While this course doesn't qualify for Thai massage certification, you'll receive a digital certificate upon completion to mark your achievement.
