Course Description
This online Thai Tok Sen Massage course introduces you to a unique Northern Thai Lanna healing tradition that targets the body’s sen—energy pathways recognized in Traditional Thai Medicine. Using two specialized wooden tools—a mallet (kon) and a carved wedge or stick (lim)—the technique employs controlled, rhythmic tapping to generate vibrations that penetrate soft tissues. These vibrations help release tension, promote energetic balance, and create a deeply meditative experience for the recipient. Unlike courses that outline steps to follow, this program focuses on the purpose and principles behind the practice—empowering you to learn Tok Sen as a meaningful Thai healing art rather than just a memorized routine.
Course Summary
I’ll guide you through a comprehensive 60-minute Tok Sen massage, offering a clear, repeatable structure that covers practical sequences in supine, side-lying, and seated positions. This training also includes additional full-body techniques, detailed in the course breakdown. You’ll gain access to on-demand video lessons, full-text articles, and resources—designed to help you learn visually and then refine your skills with written guidance. Plus, you’ll receive a digital workbook and downloadable materials to support your practice effectively.
In addition to hands-on technique, the course provides a comprehensive understanding of the theory behind Tok Sen and its deep cultural roots in the Lanna region of Northern Thailand. You’ll learn why teachers often pass down the history of Tok Sen through oral tradition, why artisans craft the traditional tools from tamarind wood, the fascinating “thunder wood” legend, and the role of blessings or mantras in certain lineages. Students gain lifetime access and membership in an online support community. While this course doesn’t qualify for Thai massage certification, you’ll receive a printable digital certificate upon completion.
