Course Description
The primary focus of this course will be to teach you Thai massage acupressure points and stretches in the Supine position. I will teach you stretches, acupressure points, and the proper use of body weight using thumbs, palms, elbows, knees, and feet. The course will also guide you on smooth transitions between these techniques.
My courses emphasize hands-on training and practical experience. In addition to working closely with other students and me, you'll have the chance to practice your new skills on Sirius Health client volunteers prior to taking your practical exam.
I begin each day of the course with Reusi Dat Ton and Qigong. I divide my course theory into four areas of study: Professional, Theoretical, Practical, and Ethical. I shall introduce you to Thai massage and provide an overview of Traditional Thai Medicine. I shall then teach you contraindications and cautionary sites for Thai massage, followed by an introduction to the Thai Healing Alliance International Code of Ethics.
By the end of this course, you will be able to confidently perform a full 60-minute Traditional Thai massage in the supine position.
Course Schedule
2-Weekend Option: Nov 8-9 & 15-16
4-Day Option: Nov 13-16
I offer students two options for each of my courses. If you live near Saskatoon, you can take the course over two consecutive weekends. This option allows you to keep working without taking time off.
If you live farther from Saskatoon, I’m happy to reteach the first two days of the course on Thursday and Friday before the final weekend. This way, you only need to travel to Saskatoon once for the course. Plus, it lets you finish the course alongside the students who chose the two-weekend option.
